The Progression of A Day

Earlier this afternoon, Teddy had an EEG test.
The EEG measures brain activity
to see if Teddy's having seizures.

Lots of wires involved, so it might look scary, but it's not as bad as it looks.

With only ten minutes of the test remaining,
Teddy decided to pull out his ventilator tube.
ON HIS OWN.
And he breathed on his own and did fine.

But just to be safe, they put him on a CPAP machine.

He wasn't quite sure what to think of having a binky in his mouth,
especially after having a tube in his mouth and down his throat.

It was so good to see his cute little mouth again!

Lab results showed that his blood oxygen levels are good.
So they stopped the CPAP machine altogether.
And now he is breathing on his own
with just a little supplemental oxygen.
We are elated.

And by the looks of it,
so is he.

yay, Teddy!

Yeah, that CPAP is no fun for the babies. Glad he's done with it.

I'm so delighted with his progress!

Dre - So glad to hear that little Teddy has taken a turn for the better. What a fighter! You and your family have been ever present in my thoughts. Hope he gets to come home SOON! I'll keep you in my prayers. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Don't forget to take care of yourself for when the little guy comes home.

Oh my goodness, these pictures of Teddy are so sad!! I can't imagine what you're going through right now!! I am so sorry you have to experience this with Teddy being so little (not that it would be any better if he was older...), but you just met the little guy and now he's fighting a bug :-(
I'm glad to hear that he's doing better! Keep fighting Teddy!!

Not that I promote stealing... cough cough but... swipe one of those little blankies he is wrapped with... When Jay was in the NICU, we took on. Looks like the same one-- with the little feet... After 18yrs, I look back at that blanket every couple years (its in his box of firsts) and remember the miracle he was brought out of... (when he was born he was given 3hrs to live)...

Sometimes we need little reminders of God's goodness and grace and what he has done and his promises of what he will continue to do...

I know... I am usually not so deep... lol
